About Us
Millbrook Dog Grooming is located within the old Millbrook Service Station and is a family run business. Both Tanya and Debbie have attended college and gained the City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants. Tanya has had private training at Abbfabb Academy of Dog Grooming Training and is currently at college doing her City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Introductory Dog Grooming/Diploma for Professional Dog Stylists. We also have years of experience of grooming, breeding, showing and judging dogs.
Over the years the family have owned Dobermanns, Groenendaels and an Afghan Hound. We only breed to keep a puppy... or 2...or 4! Our dogs are pets first and foremost. They all live inside (usually asleep on the sofa!) We also do Good Citizens with the dogs with two that have been awarded the Silver Goods Citizens Award. We are working towards the Gold Award and hope to take the test later on in the year.

We all have a love for animals but dogs certainly have taken our hearts. Tanya and Dean have welcomed a new dog into their home - a Toy Poodle! Tanya has always admired Poodles and couldn't resist giving one a home when he needed one. Unfortunately he broke his leg whilst playing with other dogs. His owner could no longer look after him so Dean and Tanya decided to foster him until his leg had heeled. Dean is the Head Veterinary Nurse at Luxstowe Vets so he was is in good hands. Alan spent one night at home with us and we fell in love with him. Needless to say, he stayed!
We also enjoy showing dogs. Over the years we are proud to have won 16 Challenge Certificates, 16 Reserve Challenge Certificates, 1 Green Star, 1 Reserve Green Star, to have owned Champions in two breeds, to have owned the only brown Dobermann Bitch to have won an All Breeds Championship Show Working Group, owned the Top Dobermann Bitch UK 2001 and and had the Top Belgian Shepherd all varieties 1994. "Louie" - Ch Woodbriar Luciano JW ShCM has won Best Puppy in Breed and the Reserve Challenge Certificate at Crufts 2011 and has won Best in Show at the Royal Cornwall Show - TWO YEARS RUNNING! We are immensely proud of all of our dogs achievements and are honoured to have them in our lives.
We do not consider ourselves as a "kennel" We simply enjoy showing our pets! We breed approximately every four to five years and ALWAYS keep one. All of our dogs are health tested and we are members of the Kennel Club Assured Breeders Scheme.
